Season 7, Episode 17 - "Questions and Answers"
Dorothy is auditioning to be on the TV game show Jeopardy!. She receives a callback to participate in simulated games, the outcome of which determines her selection for the show. During the games, Dorothy is brilliant and knows all the answers. Why isn't she chosen as a contestant?
The game coordinator doesn't think viewers of the show will root for her.
Dorothy: Uh, listen, I don't want anybody to lose his job over this, but I didn't get a flyer.
Coordinator: I realize that.
Dorothy: But I was good. I was brilliant. An impressive body of knowledge, you said so yourself! How could I not be on?
Coordinator: Alright, if you really wanna know, Mrs. Zbornak, I'll tell you. On Jeopardy!, we don't have any celebrity stars as contestants. Everyday citizens—those are our stars. Those are the people that our viewers care about, identify with, root for. We don't believe anyone would root for you. Thank you very much for coming.
