Season 1, Episode 3 - "Rose the Prude"

Rose reluctantly agrees to a double date with Blanche and her date's brother. She meets Arnie, and they have a great time that night. When Arnie asks Rose to go on a Bahamas cruise with him, why is she hesitant about going?

She hasn't been sexually intimate with a man since her late husband, Charlie, died 15 years earlier.

Harold Gould, who plays Arnie Peterson, returns to the show later as Rose's boyfriend, Miles Webber. (Season 5, Episode 6 - "Dancing in the Dark")

Rose: Arnie wants me to go away with him on a cruise to the Bahamas.
Blanche: Oh. Oh, and you're upset because he wants you to pay your own way?
Rose: I'm upset because we'll be all alone, in the middle of the ocean, on a ship, in a stateroom, with a bed.
Blanche: Oh.
Rose: I don't know what to do. I haven't...been with a man in that special way since Charlie died.
Blanche: Get outta here.
Rose: It's true. Charlie was the only lover I ever had, and my first time was on our wedding night.
Blanche: Get outta here!
Dorothy: Oh, back off, Blanche! Not all of us are classified by the Navy as a friendly port.
